How do I apply?

This section tells you how you can apply for session 2010-2011

You can apply from April of the year that you want to study. You should always apply as early as possible, do not wait for exam results or a firm offer. If you do not get on the course that you originally applied for support for, we can change your application to another course or cancel your application if you contact us.

Closing dates

You should apply to us as soon as possible. If we receive your application after the final closing date, we will not be able to pay your yuition fees.

The final closing dates for receiving postgraduate applications for session 2010-2011 are:

  • 30 June 2010 for courses outside Scotland; and
  • 31 March 2011 for courses in Scotland.

Application forms

If you are nominated for a funded place, your institution will give you the appropriate application form or you can contact us on 0845 111 0244.

Processing your application form

If you are studying at a Scottish institution and we receive your correctly filled-in application by 30 June it will be processed in time for the start of your course. However, if your institution have not told us who they want to receive the funded places, it may take longer to process your application.

If you are studying at an institution outside Scotland and apply before the closing date of 30 June 2010, we will make a decision as to who is to receive support and then process your application.

We will assess your entitlement and send you an award notice which will tell you how much you what you are entitled to.

If you have not heard from us within 28 days of sending your application, please contact us to make sure we have received your form.
